How to Paint Your Boat
This book answers all the DIY boat ownersquestions and provides practical advice on painting every type of material.
Most boat owners need to re-paint their vessel at least once a season, the vast number of painting products available makes it difficult to select one and to know how thickly they should be applied as well as how long to leave between coats.
How to Paint your boat offers guidance on these dilemmas as well as explaining correct surface preparation, application methods, antifouling and thinners, estimating quantities, drying times, colour matching and dealing with defects.
The book is written in a non-technical manner making it accessible to everyone and covers everything a DIY boat owner could wish to know in order to repaint their vessel.
Nigel Clegg has worked in the paint industry for over 20 years and was first involved in the development and testing of aviation coating at International Paint’s Kingston-upon-Thames factory. After a period working for a major spray equipment manufacturer, he then rejoined International’s yacht division, where he spent 16 years working on the company’s helpdesk in Southampton.
He is now a freelance technical consultant and author who has written numerous technical manuals and now writes regularly for Practical Boat Owner magazine.
