Ibercisa return to Seawork
Spanish winch specialist, Ibercisa, will be back to exhibit at Seawork this year with the emphasis squarely on electrically driven deck equipment – one of the largest technological developments in the field.
Electronic systems greatly affect a vessel’s efficiency in terms of running costs, by reducing fuel costs.
Ibercisa are also looking to hone in on equipment for the offshore and AHTS sector this year as supply for tugs and dredgers.
At this moment, the company is working on the construction of machinery for 14 tug boats bound for operation on the Panama Canal being built by Armón Shipyards. Also, two large trawlers for Norwegian owners being built in Turkish Shipyards.
Recently, Ibercisa has also supplied deck equipment for the lay vessel North Ocean V for America’s McDermontt – built at the Vigo shipyard. The supply included combined anchor winches with 60mm diameter chain, mooring winch machinery and pedal driven Capstan bollards. This is the third vessel Ibercisa has supplied similar equipment for, being built at Vigo.
Jan De Nul’s new dredger Willen de Vlamingh has also benefitted from Ibercisa expertise. The machinery supplied included an electronically driven winch driven with 110KW of power giving a direct pull of 33 tonne.
Ibercisa has recently acquired new machinery, including a milling machine with a working capacity for pieces up to 1.3 tonnes – an important investment for the company working on modernising and expanding its repertoire.
