Inflation boom times at Interspill

The order was secured with Group De Cloedt, in Belgium, for 1000m of HI Sprint 2000 inflation boom supplied on four hydraulic reels. The contract, worth more than €400,000, will be delivered by the end of this month.

Speaking at the exhibition, Vikoma International managing director Mike King said, ‘This order recognises the quality, durability and ease of use of Vikoma’s HI Sprint boom, which was a major factor in the decision making by all parties involved, and builds on previous EMSA contracts awarded to Vikoma.’

The company’s HI Sprint single point inflation boom is fast to deploy with just three people and has excellent wave following characteristics to maximise oil containment. The durability and resistance of neoprene and the bulkhead design ensures its integrity in the most challenging conditions.

In what was undoubtedly an eventful day for Vikoma at the show yesterday, Vikoma presented a seminar session in the main exhibition area entitled, ‘Fast Deployment & Spill Containment Using Effective Booms’, presented by the company’s Mike Dorey.

The seminar explored the benefits and constraints of deploying oil containment booms, providing an insight into the most effective and efficient methods of deployment, with the focus on saving time and money whilst effecting the best containment scenario.

Visitors to the Vikoma stand also learned about the company’s new manufacturing facility which will open in November and heard about further expansion plans.
