Italdraghe delivers mini-dredger

Italdraghe has delivered another of its BDC 200 dredging attachments to a mining company in English Guyana.

The BDC dredging head transformed the excavator into a mini cutter suction dredger

The new dredging head will be installed on a Doosan 225 LC excavator, transforming the dredger into a mini-cutter suction dredger that will be used for a series of river and inland mining extraction projects.

The BDC 200 is just one of a range of Italdraghe dredging attachments designed to fit almost every type and size of excavator.

This new ‘mini-dredger’ has been designed by the company to be both compact and efficient, with a powerful cutter head and dredging pump, identical to those found on full sized cutter suction dredgers.

Italdraghe says the BDC offers the advantages of simple quick-fit installation, low maintenance costs, one man operation and easy transportability.

This is the second BDC delivery Italian manufacturer Italdraghe has made in the past three months. The company supplied the mini-dredger to a Genoa based company specialising in dredging works and beach replenishment back in June.

During the next couple of months, Italdraghe says it is set to deliver an SGT 180 cutter suction dredger and booster station to the same client. A number of different motor pump units for dredging precious minerals will also be delivered.
