Jack Gaston
All at Maritime Journal and Mercator Media were saddened to hear of the passing of Tug stalwart Jack Gaston earlier this week following a recent few years of ill-health.
Hugely respected throughout the tugs and towing industry, Jack wrote his first article on tugs in 1965. He was Maritime Journal’s Tugs and Towing correspondent up to 2014 alongside similar roles at multiple other industry titles, and was awarded the Seawork Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 for services to the commercial marine industry.
