Management systems for OPVs
Advanced integrated ship control system supplier, Servowatch, has successfully completed factory acceptance tests for fully integrated platform management systems (IPMS) for three new UK Royal Navy offshore platform vessels (OPVs).
The Servowatch scope of supply includes a fully integrated control and management system for the vessels’ propulsion, power generation, HVAC, fire-detection and tank gauging systems.
Servowatch will now integrate the IPMS package at BAE Systems’ shipyard on the River Clyde, Glasgow, Scotland, where the next-generation OPVs are currently under construction.
The first vessel in the new batch will have more storage and accommodation facilities and a larger flight deck than the current River Class of OPVs. They will be delivered to the Royal Navy in 2017.
