Marine radar milestone

Sperry Marine is marking a milestone in marine radar technology by celebrating the 60th anniversary of the launch of its first commercial marine radar product, the Type 159, which was introduced by the UK based Decca Marine Group in August 1949. The company has subsequently sold more than 150,000 marine radar sets. The Decca brand later became incorporated with Sperry Marine under Northrop Grumman ownership.
