Maritime training collaboration
UAE based Jaheziya, which provides technical, vocational and professional training, has signed an agreement with the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) to develop and deliver maritime training that complies with international standards.
The joint training programmes will be provided for companies in the oil and gas sector, the UAE Armed Forces, UAE Navy and Coastguard.
The companies will deliver technical vocational and professional training that fuses scenario-based live training with virtual simulation. The aim of the collaboration is to help build capabilities of maritime and non-military emergency and disaster management in the UAE and Ireland.
Khaleefa Al Hemairi, project director, TSSDMC, said: “We are committed to providing the best possible education and training in the fields of safety, security, emergency preparedness and disaster management by collaborating with a hand picked selection of international partners. By doing this, we hope to further strengthen the UAE’s capability to mitigate the impact of natural disaster or man made crisis and maintain overall business continuity.
The MNCI provides training and education for the merchant marine and the non-military needs of its public partner, the Irish Naval Service (INS).
