MJ gets animated
The days of the print-only “media pack” are numbered. A new animated video now tells advertisers in the European commercial marine industry why Maritime Journal should be their preferred channel to communicate with their markets.

“The publishing industry is evolving rapidly to include much more than just static text and pictures on a page. We want the way in which we showcase our brands to our clients to reflect this,” said Andrew Webster, CEO of Mercator Media, which publishes MJ.
“The video tells the MJ story in an engaging way. It supports the traditional media pack and the personal interaction that we’ve always had with our clients.”
The three-and-a-half minute video starts with a short overview of Mercator Media and then moves on to explain why MJ’s clients have trusted it to deliver their marketing messages since 1987.
An infographic-style animation covers each of MJ’s media platforms available to advertisers: the print magazine, the responsively designed website and the weekly e-newsletter. In each case it shows the audience size and demonstrates how that particular platform is useful to its audience and to advertisers. It also tells potential advertisers about the “super-user” audience that regularly interacts with all three of these platforms.
“In addition to rolling out this concept to our other media brands, we are also looking at ways of making Mercator Media’s various expos and conferences more accessible via video,” said Webster.
