Multi-function navigation for workboats
Marine electronics specialist Simrad has launched a new multifunction navigation system, the Simrad NSO evo2.
Setting a new standard in Glass Bridge navigation, the advanced NSO evo2 brings together the core elements of today’s commercial marine electronics. It features high-power processing for fast charting, radar and navigation, dual widescreen displays for uncompromising vision, intuitive multi-touch control, and limitless compatibility for unrivalled integration. NSO evo2 is well suited for delivering multi-function navigation for workboats and commercial vessels.
The world’s first multi-function system to offer dual-discrete video output with full HD resolution, Simrad’s new NSO evo2 black box distributed system is two powerful MFDs in one. Using side-by-side monitors, the system’s quad-core processors deliver completely independent display, performance and control of navigational functionality.
Offering the latest in TouchSensible navigation, the NSO evo2 harnesses the power of Multi-Touch with full support for OP40 wired remote control, to deliver a user interface suitable for the toughest of marine environments. Key navigation features are quickly accessible from the system’s icon-driven home screen, charts can be moved, zoomed and personalised, and the new screen splits and data panel configurations are optimised for widescreen viewing.
The NSO evo2 also supports a wide choice of cartography options, including Jeppesen C-Map Max-N charts, Navionics Gold and Platinum and other third-party products – including the ability to navigate using two distinct chart types simultaneously.
