New CFD software from Meteodyn
French wind engineering company, Meteodyn, has developed new Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD) software to for the monitoring and forecasting of wind conditions.
The company, which has already developed CFD software for wind modelling for windfarms, civil construction, buildings’ ventilation and city planning, is an international wind engineering and CFD computation expert.
Its latest software, RT Windmap, allows users to visualise the real-time speed and direction of wind on a given site. The software has been designed for seaports to allow for the management of vessel and boat access to the port.
Meteodyn developed the software to help users gain a better understanding and assessment of wind conditions and improve safety in and around seaports for vessels.
Delphine Pouzet, communications assistant, Meteodyn, told Maritime Journal: “We specialisein wind modelling applied in several sectors, so we develop several software dedicated to each of these sectors. RT Wind map is dedicated for wind in ports.”
“We heard about requests in French ports and we really believe wind modelling in ports brings much more security to people, vessels or boats and equipment.”
