New features for Seawork 2013

The 16th Seawork International commercial marine industry exhibition and conference will take place at the ABP Port of Southampton, UK from 25 to 27 June 2013 and will include a celebration of 50 years of the RIB.

The RFA 'Lyme Bay' will be the venue for Seawork 2013 social events

The exhibition, which attracts over 7000 professional visitors and exhibitors from over 40 countries, will include the usual features including the 60 plus workboats afloat on pontoons, the Innovations Showcase, the Small Business Enterprise Zone and pavilions dedicated to Maritime Security will be joined by a special feature.

International authority, Dag Pike, said: “It is amazing to think that RIBs have now existed for 50 years. When we started out, we were just trying to solve a wear and tear problem on inflatable rescue boats and now they are in use worldwide.”

Seawork 2013 will also feature the 176m British Royal Fleet Auxiliary Lyme Bay which will be moored alongside the exhibition halls on the quayside. The vessel will be the venue for the social events of the conference including the Innovation Awards Dinner.
