New range of products from Guidance Marine

UK-based Guidance Marine has launched a new range of products to enhance its portfolio of sensors which measure distances between ships at sea.

Guidance Marine produces specialist laser and radar sensors

The Absolute Signature laser and the RangeGuard radar system work to ensure that vessels can operate safely within close proximity to each other in dangerous waters.

Jan Grothusen, chief executive at Guidance Marine, said: “The uncertainties arising from the deterioration in global trading conditions have put a higher urgency on our current diversification strategy.”

He added: “These products can be used in both new existing markets, such as wind farm construction and high-end leisure markets.”

The company currently employed 67 people at its Meridian Business Park HQ in Leicester, it has recently opened regional offices in the US, Singapore and Aberdeen, with on-the-ground sales teams in Brazil.

Over the next five years the company is aiming to achieve further growth investing in new markets and new specialist laser and radar sensor technology.
