New WBV motion analysis course
The UK’s Fast Response Craft (FRC) training company, FRC International, has developed a new Whole Body Vibration (WBV) Motion Analysis course after receiving industry requests for guidance.
The course, which has been developed in association with leading experts on Repeated Shock (RS) and WBV exposure on RIBs and fast craft, covers how to measure WBV and RS on all types of craft. The aim of the course is to provide the industry with an understanding of international best practice to enable the correct use of data logging systems.
John Haynes, operations director, FRC International, said: “The Motion Analysis Course provides designers, boat builders and end-users with the ability to measure levels of vibration exposure that can affect crew and passengers on all types of craft. This understanding enables operators to improve safety across their maritime operations.”
With vibration data acquisition equipment becoming more affordable, operators need to gain an understanding of what types of unit are applicable and how to use them.
The course will target WBV measurement myths and area of interests including the benefits of shock mitigation solution such as suspension seats, and how vibration data analysis can be linked to health surveillance and monitoring – a requirement of the EC WBV legislation.
