Piriou delivers ‘Bourbon Norte’

The first vessel, Bourbon Sirocco, was delivered in October 2012, followed by the Bourbon Shamal in January 2013 and the Bourbon Harmattan in March 2013.

Built by Piriou’s Vietnam based shipyard, Seas, the vessels have an aluminium hull and a load and cargo deck area of 242m² and are capable of reaching speeds of up to 30 knots.

Pascal Piriou, chairman and CEO, Piriou, said: “After nine months of operation, our 53m FPSV prototype has lived up to its ambitions. It is economical both in terms of purchase and operating costs, ergonomic and has a remarkable, attractive design.”

“The vessel is therefore a success, and we intend to capitalise on it in the very near future with new orders and with smaller versions, starting in particular with a 40m model,” he added.

These vessels are part of Piriou’s newly developed range of FPSVs and are the largest in the multipurpose range, which includes vessels from 19m to 53m.

The company says the new design offers improved lightship and loaded speeds with constant consumption, improved economy regime consumption and improved passenger comfort.
