Rapid barge deployment
When Civil & Coastal Construction (Pty) Ltd of South Africa required a split hopper barge urgently for works deepening the Ben Schoeman Basin in Cape Town harbour, they contacted Baars BV of Sliedrecht in the Netherlands.
Although better known for chartering such vessels, Baars was able to sell the 43.84m LOA barge ‘B.34’, with a hold capacity of 335m³, for immediate despatch on board a freighter sailing from Rotterdam.
