RINA safety and innovation awards

The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) is calling for nominations for its annual safety and innovation awards.

RINA’s Maritime and Safety award is presented annually to an individual, company or organisation that, in the opinion of the institution and Lloyd’s Register, is judged to have made an outstanding contribution to the improvement of maritime safety or the protection of the marine environment.

The QinetiQ Maritime Innovation Award meanwhile recognises outstanding scientific or technological research in the areas of hydrodynamics, propulsion, structures and materials which have the potential to make a significant improvement in the design, construction or operation of marine vessels and structures.

Individuals may not enter themselves for either award but may nominate their company or organisation.

Guidelines on how to word nominations are available from the RINA website, the closing date is 31 January 2015.
