Seakeeper stays strong
US-based marine gyro stabilisation provider, Seakeeper, reported record growth in 2014.
Shipments of gyros increased 46% over 2013 as more boat manufacturers added Seakeeper as standard and optional equipment on new builds. A sizable portion of its sales also came from refits.
“We’re forecasting strong top line growth for 2015,” said Andrew Semprevivo, vice president of sales and marketing. “With the groundwork we’ve laid over the past six years, we look forward to making Seakeeper’s vision of every boat being stabilized, therefore safer and vastly more enjoyable, a reality.”
The company expanded its markets in 2014 with its portfolio of five new models, scaled to fit a wider range of boats from 9m to 67m. The updated units are said to be more compact than earlier versions and cost less due to the company’s investment in manufacturing efficiency.
