Titanic transit
The 3,500 tonne, 65m high offshore substation for the Borkum Riffgrund offshore windfarm has sailed from the Danish town of Aalborg.
The farm is located some 55km from the northwest coast of Germany in the North Sea and, with 320MW capacity, will be able to supply power to nearly 330,000 German households.
The topside and jacket construction were loaded onto Boa Barge 36 for transit to the site, where the eight legged steel jacket construction was installed in almost 30m water depth.
