Top TEU for Gdansk
From August 2013 DCT Gdansk in Poland will handle the latest 18,000 TEU capacity ‘Triple-E’ vessels of the Maersk Line.
This most efficient type of vessel will call for the first time at DCT Gdansk during its maiden voyage from Asia to Europe.
“Implementation of the first direct deepsea ocean container service to the Baltic Sea truly revolutionized the market and now the deployment of the 18,000 TEU vessels confirms it”, said DCT Gdansk chief commercial officer Jean-Jacques Moyson.
Triple-E vessels are not only unique due to their size (400m LOA, 59m wide and 73m high), but also due to their efficiency and the cost optimization they offer.
