Triplex contract with BOA Offshore
Norwegian marine equipment provider, Triplex AS, has secured an order from BOA Offshore for its Multi Deck Handling (MDH) 42.
The MDH system features a wide range of safe AHTS equipment, which ensures maximum safety for deckhands. This includes a separate wire clamp for controlled spin out of twisted wires a dedicated manipulator arm for fine operations, two cameras, floodlights and different manipulator tools.
The MDH version for BOA will also be prepared for the Triplex 5ft Tractioner for efficient handling of polyester mooring lines up to 260mm.
Even Kippernes, offshore sales manager for Triplex AS said: “We are delighted that BOA has chosen Triplex deck equipment for its new AHTS vessels. The Triplex MDH can lift, move and park heavy anchors up to 42 tonnes and pull heavy chains and grappling hooks weighting up to 30 tonnes. This is the ultimate deck equipment for anchor handlers.
The contract also includes shark jaws, vertical guide pins and a spooling block.
The MDH 42 will be used by BOA on its new AHTS, designed by Wärtsilä.
Delivery is scheduled for January 2014.
