QuayQuip busy in Indonesia
QuayQuip, subsidiary of Eurotech Benelux headquartered in the Netherlands, are reporting a busy year including the supplying of fendering systems to Indonesia.
In addition to their project at Holcim Jetty in Tuban, QuayQuip have supplied fenders to Shell Indonesia’s new Pulau Laut oil facility in Kalimantan. Also, working with consultants Mott MacDonald and contractors PT EPTCO Dian Persada they have designed four dolphin-based cone fender systems for the new berth. The outer dolphins are now equipped with QCN 1100 Cone Fender systems while for the inner dolphin, QCN 900 systems stand behind slightly narrower panels of the same height. Arriving barges will tie up to QuayQuip 500kn T-Head Bollards.
Temperatures of 45 degrees were overcome in the design challenge along with compliance with local and international codes and regulations. The berth caters for the new 60,000mt import and storage facility at Pulau Laut which in turn serves the regional energy infrastructure.
