A future hub for electrification expertise

The Port of Gothenburg and real estate giant Castellum are collaborating on the new 270,000m² park, aiming to re-define how logistics spaces meet sustainability standards.

“Halvorsäng is a key investment for the Port of Gothenburg and part of our mission to make it easier for all stakeholders in the logistics chain to make sustainable choices,” says Jill Söderwall, vice president business areas at the Port of Gothenburg.

”Together with Castellum and Buddy Energy, we are creating a logistics area for the future, with the infrastructure needed to support increased electrification.” 

Electrification hub

With the help of Buddy Energy, the site will integrate solar power, smart energy management and a robust charging infrastructure from the outset of development.

Located next to the Port of Gothenburg, Halvorsäng will feature 145,000m² of leasable space, with OneMed confirmed as the first tenant by 2026.

The park will be certified to Environmental Building 4.0 Gold and aims to reduce climate impact by 40% compared to traditional developments. This initiative positions Halvorsäng as a leading example of how logistics infrastructure can actively support climate goals.

The partners said that Buddy Energy’s integrated solution combines solar energy with battery storage and intelligent control to deliver cost savings and grid efficiency.

This will help ensure Halvorsäng supports not only current logistics needs but also the evolving demands of a renewable energy-powered transport ecosystem in future.
