Kotug sets sites on offshore windfarms

On a global scale Kotug’s offshore division provides specialist towage and related services to the offshore, wind farm, dredging, oil and gas industry, undertaking rig moves, construction and decommissioning works. Kotug has a vast experience in operating general support vessels as well as anchor handling tug supply vessels, with its highly manoeuvrable Rotortugs have bringing a new perception to the precise moving of jack-up rigs in the North Sea. Rotor tugs have proven their operational effectiveness, especially for the final positioning and de-positioning of jack-up rigs on and off their respective operational sites. Rotor tugs, with a bollard pull from 65 to 80 tonnes, perform up to 20 rig moves per unit every year.

For renewables Kotug works with a variety of tugs, with a bollard pull from 50 to 80 tons. In addition to Rotor tugs, Kotug perform works in this sector with standard stern drive tugs with limited draft restrictions. These tugs, equipped for anchor handling and with substantial deck space, are well suited to support the wind farm industry.
