MLC certification at Europort for OWS
Offshore Wind Services BV is in the process of certifying all its vessels under the MLC 2006 certificate, Offshore Phantom being the first.
The certificate was handed over at the recent Europort exhibition in Rotteradm by auditor Thijs van der wiel from marine surveyor company Van Woerkom Nobels en Ten Veen.
The ILO’s Maritime Labour Convention 2006 provides comprehensive rights and protection at work for the world’s more than 1.2m seafarers. The Convention aims to achive both decent employment standards for seafarers as well as secure economic interests in fair competition for quality shipowners.
Workships Contractors BV is the manager for Offshore Wind Services as well as its subsidiary, Offshore Wind Power Marine Services Ltd. Workships provide commercial, operational and QHSE assistance from its offices in the Netherlands and the UK for the fleet of crew transfer vessels.
