Three workboat deal

South Boats says that this deal represents one of the largest single windfarm workboat orders ever placed by a charter service firm.

The boatbuilder’s target is to deliver one 24m and two 26m vessels over the course of the next 18 to 24 months.

The vessels will become the first to benefit from the longstanding five year South Boats Tank testing and development programme.

This means that Seacat Ranger, the first vessel in the order will benefit from the thousands of operational hours that the Seacat Services fleet has already accrued at sea, as will the second and third workboats, Seacat Intrepid and Seacat Courageous.

They will all benefit from an increase in operational deck space without compromising on vessel capability or performance – a significant industry step change that South Boats says is critical to future market innovation and growth.

Both builder and operater are well aware that they need to continue to develop and refine their products and service offering to keep pace with future market needs.
