New Counter-Pollution Firm Opens New Response Centre

Aberdeen based Ceto Environmental Ltd has secured £ 2m financial backing for plans to become a leading provider of counter-pollution response and strategy services.

Funding for the new company has been achieved without approaching any institutional investors, coming instead from trade and private sources as well as significant investment by members of Ceto’s senior management team.

A significant stake has been taken by British Maritime Technology Ltd (BMT), which promises the development of useful synergies with BMT member companies and opportunities for taking advantage of BMT’s strategic locations around the world.

Ceto is investing £250,000 and creating ten new jobs with the opening of the first in a series of UK regional response centres at Bromsgrove in the West Midlands. Equipped with the latest protection and recovery equipment, it will be capable of dealing with any oil or chemical incident, including those involving the most hazardous and highly toxic chemicals.

The Bromsgrove centre will provide a 24 hour emergency response service throughout England and Wales, a Service that will be enhanced with the subsequent opening of further planned regional centres.

Ceto Environmental has already secured several contracts, including provision of support to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s counter pollution branch.
