Berthing Gains as Sovereign Harbour Grows
Extending a successful long term partnership, Sovereign Harbour has commissioned Walcon Marine to install pontoon equipment for a further 80 berths in its North Harbour at Eastbourne.
The fully serviced berths are designed to accommodate craft up to 24m in length and will help to meet increasing demand for larger moorings on the UK South Coast. All the new berths are due to be operational by the summer.
This latest extension to the North Harbour will bring the number of berths available at Sovereign Harbour to 840. Sovereign Harbour plans to add another 260 berths within the next few years.
Clive Kemp, commercial director at Walcon Marine said, ‘Because the North Harbour is surrounded by residential property, we will be using our low noise, environmentally friendly Vibro piling hammer to drive the steel tubular piles into the bed of the marina, which will hold the aluminium structured S2000 pontoon equipment in place.
Along with Sovereign Harbour, we are keen to ensure a quick, quiet and high quality installation.’
