BHD Land Reclamation in Dubai
Undeterred by war in the region, the Netherlands Ballast Ham Dredging has begun work on a contract in Dubai undertaking land reclamation works at Port Rashid. Total vale of the contract for client Dubai Palm Developers is ¢ 40 million.
In the presence of the Crown Prince of Dubai and the client’s representatives, BHD’s trailing suction hopper dredger ‘HAM 317’ delivered the first load of sand.
The project consists of winning some 30 million m 3of sand dredged at sea and transporting it to the reclamation site. BHD will be deploying at least three trailing suction hopper dredgers for the project.
