Consulting Services Sought for Lithuanian Project
Klaipeda State Seaport Authority (KSSA) in Lithuania has received a loan from the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) in connection with consulting services for work at the Port of Klaipeda and is seeking contractors able to supervise civil works contracts, monitor the environmental impact of work, and provide procurement advice for the procurement of goods, works and consulting services financed under the project.
The works to be supervised include deepening and widening of the entrance channel between quays 10 and 115 at the port of Klaipeda. This contract is due to be signed by 01 July and will last 18 months. In the first phase, dredging will take place between berths 10 and 79, with a total of 470,000m 3of material to excavated over a six month period.
The second phase involves dredging between berths 80 and 115, with the removal of 1,368,000m 3of material over a 12 month period.
A further contract covers the removal of shipwrecks located close to the north and south breakwaters at Klaipeda port.
This contract was due to be signed by 1 August 2003 and will take about 18 months to execute.
