HR Wallingford Studies Coastal Depletion in Italy
HR Wallingford has been commissioned by Europrogetti and Finanza SpA to provide a regeneration programme for the dunes and the depleted beaches along the coastline between Salerno and Agropoli on the West Coast of Italy.
FIDIC has a long history in publishing standard forms of contract for engineering construction. Its first standard forms were published in 1957, with new editions (the so-called ‘Red Book’) in 1969 and 1979, which included explicit provisions for dredging and reclamation works.
Numerical models including TELURAY, COSMOS2D and BEACHPLAN are being used to assess the performance of various defence scenarios along the badly eroded northern section of the frontage.
