Multi-Purpose Pontoons at Seawork
Making their debut at Seawork 2006 will be EasyFloat Pontoons, an innovative design of lightweight modular floating pontoons which were introduced to the UK market last year by Crystal 32 Ltd.
Designed for adaptability, the EasyFloat system can provide access to the water for many commercial and leisure applications.
The range of possibilities includes canoeing, rowing, sailing or other water sports which require access close to the water. EasyFloats can also be used to construct a footpath across the surface of the water, to create working or safety platforms, to be made into a rescue raft in the event of flooding, to form a base for floating cabins, hides or saunas, as private jetties, decks or bathing platfoms.
Their light weight means that pontoons measuring up to 2.4m by 4.2m can be easily transported. A 2.4m by 4.2m pontoon weighs only 167kg yet has a floating capacity of 1,636kg.
Larger pontoons with greater floating capacities can be assembled on site. These can be used as decks for leisure activities or as floating platforms on which pumps, or even small buildings can be secured.
The pontoons are manufactured in UV stabilised, impact resistant, high density polyethylene which is filled with cellular plastic. The plastic units have an anti-slip surface, are framed with anodised aluminium profiles, and anchored with galvanised poles.
