Bow thruster takes a bow at Seawork
A heavy duty hydraulic bow thruster is being launched by UK based Hercules Hydraulics at Seawork International 2013.
The Model HHBT40 has been designed by Hercules specifically for workboats where continuous duty and operation may be a requirement and the dynamic positioning facility would be an added advantage.
It comes complete with a specially produced tunnel extruded from grade 5083 aluminium alloy, to typically match the hull material of aluminium vessels.
With long life and simple maintenance in mind, the Hercules HHBT40 features a stainless steel shaft, spiral bevel gears, and a standard SAE flanged interface for a hydraulic motor, to enable installers to integrate the thruster into existing hydraulic systems.
Installation of the HHBT40 is straightforward. As the tunnel is constructed from grade 5083 extruded aluminium tube it can be simply welded into the vessel at the boatyard. The thruster then requires bolting in place and connection to the hydraulic system.
Visitors to Hercules’ Stand A79 at Seawork will be given full details.
