CMC and MIT in strategic partnership
Italy’s CMC Marine has confirmed an official partnership with UK based company Marine & Industrial Transmissions Ltd (MIT), which will be responsible for the retrofit market and technical assistance in Northern Europe.
After a year of cooperation in the field, MIT has now been officially appointed as the UK and North Europe service center.
Operating from two UK sites, MIT, who will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, is prime supplier of new units, spares and service of marine gears, power-shift transmissions, power take-offs and associated products for drive line and propulsions system, representing a number of companies.
MIT will officially represent CMC Marine and its products, in the UK, dealing with customers for any requests, ranging from technical information to after sales, which is a key focus of CMC Marine’s strategy.
With hundreds of systems installed on vessels sailing worldwide, quick and immediate assistance and service is crucial and, despite the fact that the newest electrical stabilizing system require virtually no maintenance, the company is always working to improve quality of its offer, whether by innovating new products such as the SE Integrated System, developed to enable a remote assistance, or keeping the service technicians updated on the most recent system development.
As part of the new Service & Customer Care network, MIT technicians will attend CMC Marine’s service training school, scheduled each year at the CMC Marine headquarters in Tuscany, Italy. MIT’s service engineers, application and sales staff will receive ongoing training from CMC Marine on both current installations and in the class room.
