Drive arrives at London Boat Show
E. P. Barrus chose the occasion of the London International Boat Show earlier this month to launch the all new ZT350 stern drive designed and manufactured by Yanmar Marine. Available this month in both commercial and leisure ratings, the XT350 hydraulic stern drive can be operated electronically or by cable for use with electronic or non-electronic engines.
To be used with Yanmar’s BY and LP series diesel engines, the hydrodynamic XT350 has a new type of hydraulic clutch for smooth operation, precision forged gears which add durability, and two counter-rotating propellers to maximise acceleration and enable tight-hold tracking. Its large rudder dimensions provide excellent handling for single or twin engine boats. The weight including propellers is held to only 112kg.
With a maximum power of 350mhp at 3,800rpm the available gear ratios are 1.65 and 1.78. At a maximum 260mhp at 4,000rpm, the gearing is 1.97 or 2.18.
Aimed at the repowering market as well as newbuilds, the new Yanmar drive has the same installation dimensions as compatible units currently available on the market.
