Engine supplier teams with local boatbuilder

With the support of their head office in Sweden, Volvo Penta UK’s policy of involving their centres with OEMs and boat builders enabled Volspecto provide CTruk with a complete service from initial contact to hand over for their new offshore wind farm support vessel, the SC Falcon, for Sima Charters of Holland.

On a daily basis Volspec worked closely with CTruk, providing technical assistance during installation and commissioning prior to the successful sea trials.

Results show the IPS (Inboard Performance System) is not only very fuel efficient but also gives optimum results in speed, bollard pull and, when combined with the innovative joystick docking system, excellent manoeuvrability.
