High Pressure Pump for Hull Cleaning
A new range of mobile high-pressure water jetting systems developed by Calder at its Worcester UK factory will take to the road with fully computerised controls that automatically decelerate the engine to tickover when the lance trigger is released. This feature makes the new systems more economical to run, saving on fuel and component wear.
Driven by a 165hp diesel engine, the new Calder Multijet systems are able to deliver operating pressures up to 2,800 Bar at various water dispersement rates. At 20L/min, a light reaction force permits extended manual operations for the removal of the toughest coatings on ships or the cutting of concrete.
Low pressure feed pumps ensure sufficient water flow and pressure to the proven Hammelmann high pressure pump that in turn creates the required working pressure.
A feature of this particular pump is the use of a dynamic plunger sealing system, basically a self-adjusting, wear absorbing, easily replaceable labyrinth insert that ensures maximum volumetric efficiency.
Another design feature is the inclusion of a stainless steel filter with a 3 micron cartridge ensuring only clean water passes to the pumps, thus eliminating component wear and maintaining high delivery pressure to the tools.
