Intelligent Pump Tunes Water Flow
On board water pressure systems have relied on powerful constant velocity pumps to ensure adequate flows when multiple outlets are in use.
They tend to be noisy, power hungry and need an accumulator tank to overcome irregular flows, pipe hammer, and temperature fluctuations.
The new Sensor Max VSD unit from Jabsco is based on the concept of a variable speed drive controlled by an electronic microprocessor unit ensuring that output is precisely matched to demand.
The pump operates without the need for a separate pressure switch or accumulator tank and features ‘intelligent’ electronics which enable installation in a 12 or 24 volt DC system. Because the pump automatically adjusts to its supply voltage, it operates at all levels between 10 and 29 volts without performance variation.
Sensor Max draws less than an amp in ‘low demand’ mode and features virtually silent running.
Two versions are available.
Sensor Max 17 is a 10 amp model delivering 17lpm and capable of serving up to five outlets at any one time while Sensor Max 14, rated at 8 amps and 14 lpm, will service up to four outlets.
