Long Silence for Halyard
Portsmouth UK based Halyard has just celebrated the production of its 10,000th 3m length of filament wound GRP tube. Laid end to end they would stretch for 30km.
The 10,000th length of high temperature tube was taken from the mandrel to become part of a GRP silencer for a Halyard exhaust system.
Halyard’s specialist filament winding plant was set up in 1999 with a company investment of over £250,000. Ranging in diameter from 50 to 700mm, this specialist high quality GRP tube is sold to boatyards for the manufacture of exhaust systems.
The filament winding machinery can also be used to manufacture tubing for the production of bow thrusters.
