Marine Lubricants In Russian Market Expansion

The UK based company will be supplying a full range of products from the first of this month after finally granting the Russian blending plant approval to manufacture and supply Castrol branded main grades. St Petersburg received the green light to commence production following a stringent quality control process that involved the regular testing of Russian base oil samples at Castrol’s Technology Centre at Pangbourne UK.

Castrol Marine has expressed confidence in maintaining a ‘competitive’ supply of lubrication technology to shipping in northwest Russia.

‘Many Castrol vessels call at St Petersburg, said Keith Mullin, Castrol Marine Sales Manager for Russia and the Baltic States. ‘We can supply main grades in bulk, making our supply position extremely flexible. In addition, the quality of the blend plant, which includes an on-site laboratory, is of the highest international standards.’
