New concept hybrid transmission introduced
Italian manufacturer Transfluid has produced a new concept hybrid transmission which made its UK debut at the recent Seawork exhibition.
It was shown on the stand of Marine and Industrial Transmissions, which has been Transfluid’s UK and Ireland distributor for more than 15 years.
Transfluid produces a range of drive line products that includes various forms of fluid couplings and hydraulically actuated PTOs for use in electric motor and diesel engine applications. The new concept HT-700 hybrid will use components from the Transfluid HFR210 clutch, the SPD11 multiple pump drive (splitter box), and the Rangermatic Powershift transmission. Recharging of the electric portion of the system will be from a generator fitted to one of the pump drives and will use dynamic braking and frequency control technology to control the electric motor and recharge the battery.
The HT-700 is intended to provide a solution for marine applications where pollution or sound restrictions apply. It will work with currently available controls and can be coupled to marine gear or drive train.
