New Low Noise Steyrs

This resulted in the introduction last year of the 240hp, 3.2 litre, in-line six cylinder 246JP. The lightweight 305kg unit has already been specified for prestigious installations such as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s new E class vessel which is based on London’s River Thames.

Last year saw the launch of both the ‘Low Noise’ range of 65 to 130hp engines and the arrival of sterndrive packages in the form of Bravo I, II and III drives. The low noise range comprises five new engine models developing 65hp @ 3,800rpm, 85hp @ 3,300rpm, 95hp @ 3,800rpm, 110hp @ 3,300rpm and 130hp @ 3,800rpm, all being based upon the M14 four cylinder engine.

The sterndrive package is available on all the four and six cylinder models, primarily suiting the high power engines from 144 to 240hp.
