New propeller system for workboats

Axiom’s propellers are the result of many years of research and development and are designed specifically to give vessels improved performance together with better handling, stopping and reversing.

“The Axiom blades are unique in their symmetry, which results in equal, smooth thrust ahead and astern, reduces slip and gives vessels the ability to maintain a faster average speed with fuel usage reduced by up to 8%,” said David Watts of Axiom Propellers.

Pitch induces axial rotation to the propelled water race which has been proven to be unproductive and wasteful, explained Mr Watts. With the Axiom’s unique blade symmetry there is no need to fit energy saving devices to straighten the water flow and no energy is lost.

“Our ethos is to provide vessels with a powerful, consistent propeller with unrivaled stopping ability and true control in reverse, qualities which have been missing since the birth of the marine screw,” he said.

Axiom’s propeller is suitable for heavy displacement, semi displacement, semi planning hulls, twin engine installations, left and right match propeller pairs for vessels up to 150ft. The propellers are cast from AB2 or HTB1 and designed to fit conventional shaft, spline and pod arrangements.
