Orkot Marine Bearings on Show
Orkot TLM Marine Bearings, which will be on show at Stand 2174 in Hall 2 at SMM, have approvals from all the main classification societies for use as rudder bearings and water lubricated stern tube bearings.
These approvals include the latest options for greaseless operation, such as rudder carrier bearing. The allowable bearing pressure for rudder application has gone up considerably over recent years, with Orkot now typically approved for 10 or even 15N/mm 2.Orkot’s engineers will be on hand at SMM providing technical assistance is selecting the best bearing material for improved bearing service life in marine applications including rudders, stern shafts, stabilisers, mooring systems and deck machinery.
Orkot Marine Bearings recently won the prestigious contract from Rolls Royce for the supply of water lubricated bracket bearings for the new Type 45 destroyer fleet being designed and built for the British Royal Navy by BAE Systems.
