Axiom Seawork debut
Northamptonshire based Axiom Propellers will be making its debut at Mercator Media’s Seawork 2013 Exhibition, taking place at the ABP Port of Southampton, from 25 to 27 June 2013.
The company, which was set up in 2007, will be showcasing its unique blade design propellers which are suitable for vessels up to 150ft.
Axiom has carried out extensive laboratory testing has been carried out in Newcastle University’s cavitation tunnel to develop its propeller designs further.
A large part of Axiom’s Seawork stand will be devoted to displaying photos and test data which found that the propeller’s symmetric characteristics result in equal pressure over the entire propeller disc when under load. Equal thrust ahead and astern also allows for greater control, particularly when reversing, with stopping distances improved by up to 58%.
David Watts, joint owner of Axiom, said: “With the completion of our worldwide patenting of the Axiom blade, we have been able to continue advancing the development of additional propeller designs suitable for an ever growing list of applications for which the Axiom has been selected. With their symmetrical blades, these unique propellers have been proved to make a positive improvement to vessels’ handling.”
