Dive support vessel sewage system delivered
Seawork exhibitor Servac has delivered a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), transferred into a vessel, welded, assembled in the refit yard at Fayard, Denmark and tested in just 21 days.
Following the removal of the old system aboard the Bibby Polaris, Servac’s flexible design philosophy allowed a standard ACO Clarimar MF configuration to be adapted to fit within the available space while at the same time maintaining access to surrounding engine room equipment.
The main benefit of the ACO Clarimar MF ‘flat-pack’ STP solution fitted by Servac is claimed to be a significant cost saving, helped by there being no requirement to cut access hole(s) through the ship’s hull and wing tanks.
There was minimal, if any, disruption to existing ship equipment installations and hence a short installation time. It required minimal intervention by ship and yard personnel, Servac claims, and the new solution treats not only black water, but now also grey water.
The Bibby Polaris is 8,234grt Dive Support Vessel supporting a crew of 122 persons.
