Portuguese maritime surveillance system
Last May, maritime software developer Max Sea introduced its TZ Coastal Monitoring installation with its partner Seatec in Portugal. The aim of the project was to help the Portuguese government deploy a turnkey maritime surveillance system on its shores and on certain strategic islands.
Under the name Costa Segura, the program has expanded with the installation of cameras in areas frequented by bathers and in other areas deemed sensitive. This new structure offers the authorities of the Portuguese State a range of tools to secure navigation, provide support to rescuers and fight against pollution and illegal activities.
Each Costa Segura project station comprises a radar for target tracking (ARPA), a camera, an automatic target identification system (AIS), associated alarms and a VHF radio.
TZ Coastal Monitoring software is at the heart of this infrastructure. It controls the installed devices: cameras, radars, transmitters / receivers AIS, etc, and in addition to this, the advanced compatibility with Furuno products means that you can collect all the data emitted by the various sensors. Everything is fully controlled from a single TimeZero user interface.
