HydroSurv sells three USVs to new customer

MSeis has taken delivery of three inland multi-purpose USVs to carry out marine acoustic monitoring and support services to the marine surveying industry, HydroSurv says.

The three vessels are Rapid Environment Assessment Vessels (REAV), and each is equipped with Kuda Core autopilot technologies by EIVA. They are suitable platforms for mounting hydrophone arrays or calibrated hydrophones that can be towed or posistioned accurately on station.

These particular models, the REAV-16s, are the smallest in the HydroSurv range and are designed for a wide range of inland and more sheltered water environments. They are battery-electric and as such perform their tasks with little noise.

“We envisage numerous new applications such as cetacean mitigation and absolute noise measurement as well as the more standard hydrographic designation,” said MSeis managing director Mark Higginbottom. “Simple deployment, requiring no specialised equipment, was also seen by MSeis as a real advantage.”
