U-Boat Worx targets global subsea market
Dutch company U-Boat Worx has announced a major strategic overhaul with the formation of three new core divisions deisgned to further its reach in the subsea sector.
The leading manufacturer of manned submersibles has introduced UBW Exploration, UBW Components and UBW Naval to sharpen its focus across the commercial, defence and tourism markets.
This move comes amid rising global demand for underwater surveillance, advanced subsea inspection technologies and adventure tourism.
“We’ve always pushed the limits of what’s possible beneath the surface,” said Roy Heijdra, marketing director at U-Boat Worx.
“By introducing these three divisions, we can better tell our story and directly support the goals of every customer group, whether you’re a yacht owner, cruise operator, subsea engineer, or naval operator.”
Branching out
U-Boat Worx intends to strengthen its commercial footprint, expand its wet lease offerings, scale its naval activities and cement its position as a vertically integrated manufacturer of manned or unmanned submersibles.
The newly established UBW Exploration division will focus on its luxury and research-grade subsea vehicles, such as the Cruise Sub and NEMO series, while introducing a flexible wet-lease model.
UBW Components meanwhile will deliver high-performance subsea technologies to third-party operators, including pressure-tolerant batteries and advanced control systems.
Lastly, UBW Naval will develop crewed and uncrewed platforms for military and disaster response missions.
With over 60 submersibles delivered globally to date, U-Boat Worx said that restructuring will allow it to lead a new chapter in subsea innovation.
From offshore energy to national defence, the company is looking to play a pivotal role in the future of deep-sea exploration and safety.
