​Inverlussa orders 5th vessel from Nauplius as expansion continues

The 25m x 10.6m aquaculture service vessel will be the 5th built by Nauplius for the Mull-based operator and one of three hybrid-powered vessels Inverlussa has commissioned from different shipyards.

Nauplius says the latest vessel is scheduled for delivery as part of Inverlussa’s ongoing investment programme, with all three newbuilds expected to enter service by summer 2027.

The vessel will feature battery-hybrid propulsion and IMO Tier III-compliant engines, alongside upgraded onboard accommodation including private en-suite cabins for crew.

Inverlussa operates one of Scotland’s largest fleets of fishing support vessels, providing services to fish farming sites across the west coast and islands. The latest order reflects continued investment in fleet renewal as operators seek to improve operational capability and crew standards while meeting evolving efficiency requirements.

The vessel will be built with support from a range of suppliers, including Macduff Ship Design, Blokland Non-Ferro, De Flux, SupTech and Couperus Hydrauliek, while Zeppelin will supply Caterpillar main engines for the project.

Founded in 2006 and based in Groningen, Nauplius Workboats specialises in the design and construction of fishing and marine service vessels, with previous deliveries to operators including Inverlussa, Scottish Sea Farms and Mowi.
